The 2024 Go Fund Trout Stocking program:

The Chapter’s Go Fund Trout Stocking program placed approximately 628 Brown and Rainbow Trout in the upper northern Oconto River. With the help from DNR Fisheries Biologist Tammie Paoli and Tim Winkle at Silver Moon Springs we were able to obtain a trout stocking permit this year. Fish were delivered with less than 24 hours’ notice not allowing us to let everyone known about delivery. The stocking numbers were down a little due the trout being larger (11-15”) and the costs that continue to climb.  Again, the Chapter distributed the trout at public access locations in Suring, Hintz, Underhill and Pulicfer.
​ The Go Fund Trout stocking program was started in 2015 and over this timeframe we were able to stock over 7,600 trout in the Northern Main Oconto River.
